About our conferences

The organizing committee is pleased to invite you to attend the 3rd national (1st international) Biology conference, which will be held on the 5th – 6th of July 2021 at Mosul University, Mosul, Iraq. The conference is concerned with biological research and related sciences. It is preferred that the presentations from delegates focusing on a variety of topics in zoology, botany, and biotechnology. This variety characterizes the event as one of a kind in the country, allowing for interaction between biologists of multicultural backgrounds and various biological fields to share new ideas. We wish that the conference proceedings made a significant contribution to the science field in all certain topics.

About The department of Biology

  The department of biology was established in 1975 as a branch of the departments of Chemistry and Biology. From 1981 to 1982, it became independent due to the rise in the number of students admitted to it. Various topics are taught within the department’s specialization, represented by Zoology; like Histology and Embryology, as well as Botany; such as plant Taxonomy, environmental science. Besides Microbiology, immunity, and Parasitology.   The department aims to enhance cooperation with scientific institutions, participation in both scientific symposia and conferences at both national and international levels. The department’s administration works to develop the educational and scientific skills of teaching staff by sending them to train in earnest international universities. The college and certain department administrations encourage the teaching staff to communicate and share knowledge with relevant researchers. All employees of the department work diligently to prepare a qualified teaching staff to educate the new generation in high schools. These graduates will contribute later to increasing scientific and cultural awareness in the country. The period of study for a bachelor is four years. Moreover, in 1994-1995, the department initiated postgraduate studies awarding M.Sc.  , Ph.D. in Zoology, Botany, and Biotechnology. Additionally, to a master’s degree in biology teaching methods.
